About Our School

St. Enda’s NS, Kilnadur is a mainstream co-educational school with classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Set in the picturesque townland of Kilnadur, our primary school is beautifully nestled in the green West Cork countryside with the magnificent Derrynasaggart Mountains in view. St. Enda’s NS, Kilnadur is a Catholic Primary School in the Parish of Kilmichael.

The original school opened in 1865 but a wonderfully modern extension was added, and the old build refurbished, in 2012.

Our school comprises of 2 classrooms and 27 pupils. We have two mainstream classroom teachers (Mr. Cotter and Mrs. Dineen) one Special Education Teacher (Ms. Friel), two Special Needs Assistants (Bríd and Aisling) and one part-time Secretary (Siobhán).

Our school crest resembles our identity; heritage, learning, sport and community. Within St. Enda’s NS, Kilnadur we strive to establish an environment where each child is given an opportunity to learn and grow, academically, physically, intellectually, spiritually, socially and emotionally. This is reflected in our school ethos where pupils of all ages and abilities are encouraged to reach their maximum potential in all curricular, spiritual and extra-curricular areas.

Our school motto ‘Cairde ag foghlaim le chéile’ reflects the approach of inclusivity and friendship we instill in all aspects of school life in St. Enda’s, Kilnadur.

Our Facilities

School Building

We have 2 large Classrooms, 2 spacious SET Rooms, an Office, a Staffroom and a large Hallway which is used as an area to display our many talents.

We are extremely lucky to have a large grass area beside the school yard which the pupils use during breaktimes as well as for curricular based learning.

Garden

We have a lovely garden area at the front of our school that is full of flowers and vegetables that our Gardening Committee look after. They also look after all our beautiful pots and window boxes, in conjunction with the Parent’s Association.
