We have taken part in a series of workshops with a local environmentalist, Mr. Ted Cook, and have gained a huge insight into native trees and native wildflowers in our local area and beyond. We have done a lot of work on our school garden and installed a bird feeding station and prepared a site within the school garden for our new ‘Bug Hotel’. We purchased a lovely small ‘hotel’ from the Men’s Shed in Macroom and we hope to build a larger ‘Bug Hotel’ and ‘Frog Motel’ in our lovely new field in the near future.
Our Green Schools Board is on display in the hallway of the school and is updated regularly with surveys, photographs and all Green schools related information. Photos and written pieces are regularly posted to our online platforms and local publications and many can be viewed her on our website.
